The journey
Curiosity became a foundation.
1994
Where It Started
In 1994, Brian’s father, who was serving in the Navy, recognised the growing importance of computers. He bought a computer, dismantled it and taught himself to repair and operate it—partly so he could answer his son’s questions. That willingness to learn became Brian’s first introduction to technology and problem solving.
1997
Computer Shop & Cyber Café
By 1997, Brian became involved in the family computer repair shop and cyber café. Computer assembly, repairs, networking, local area networks (LAN) and emerging internet technologies became things he learned by doing, with real customers and real equipment.
Around Age 12
First Website
Around age 12, Brian started building websites using HTML, Microsoft FrontPage and CorelDRAW. It was an early lesson in bringing technical structure, design and information together so other people could use them.
2005
Professional IT Career Begins
In 2005, Brian joined Total Sports Asia as an IT Executive, based largely on practical experience rather than formal academic qualifications. The hands-on foundation he had built became the start of a professional career.
2005–2015
Learning across different working environments
His journey continued through EB Technologies, Swiss-Garden Damai Laut, Swiss-Garden Kuala Lumpur, MyKris Asia Sdn Bhd, Club Darul Ehsan, CSC Malaysia / Ingersoll Rand and Royal Lake Club Kuala Lumpur. Across these environments, he worked with IT, networking, hospitality systems and day-to-day business needs—learning how technology affects the people who depend on it.
A tribute to my father
The encouragement behind everything I do.
Brian credits his late father, Alex Pereira, also known as JP Alex, with shaping who he is today. A former Navy officer in Lumut, remembered through Go Online Computer Shop in Sitiawan, his father encouraged him from a young age to explore computers, learn information technology and keep asking questions.
His father also initiated the website for the Church of St. Francis de Sales (SFDS), Sitiawan, encouraging Brian to build it and helping him along the way. It became a shared effort to use technology in service of their parish.
Alex passed away on 7 July 2020. His encouragement remains at the heart of Brian’s work. Through BP Trade Solutions, Brian honours his father’s memory by continuing to learn and using technology to help others.
“What I’m doing now is a tribute to him.”

Technology with business impact
Royal Lake Club Kuala Lumpur
Brian joined during an IFCA system migration. When the existing IT executive resigned, he took responsibility for the IT environment. The work went beyond keeping systems running: it was about making the club’s daily operations more reliable, accessible and cost-conscious.
Modernised the working environment
Upgraded legacy Windows 98, Millennium and XP machines to Windows 7, upgraded POS computers, improved switches and network infrastructure, extended Wi-Fi coverage across multiple club outlets, modernised servers and upgraded CCTV and security systems.
Made email accessible beyond the office
Moved email from physical infrastructure to Google Apps and the cloud, improving remote access and reducing dependence on office infrastructure. Practical technology sessions for club members helped people make better use of the tools available to them.
Brought website work in-house
By bringing website development and management in-house, Brian reduced approximate annual website expenditure from around RM36,000 to below approximately RM800.

Technology should not only work. It should make the business simpler, more efficient and financially sensible.

2018 · A product in the real world
Big Red Food Delivery
In 2018, Brian sourced an existing ordering platform from a provider in Pennsylvania, USA, and connected it with restaurant and rider operations. Big Red started with 3 restaurants and grew to 33 participating restaurants, reaching 462 customers and processing 1,621 orders during 2018.

Brian handled web app setup, integrations, restaurant sales and onboarding, customer service, deliveries, rider coordination, accounts, marketing and operations. He later introduced riders on a commission model. It gave him a close view of everything a platform needs after launch.
He attempted to raise investment but did not secure suitable terms, and the business ended around the end of 2018. The experience shaped a lasting lesson: product planning has to account for customers, operations, costs and a workable path to growth.
A digital product has to work in the real world, not just on a screen.
That is one of the foundations of BP Trade Solutions’ Idea-to-MVP Blueprint service: understand the problem, define the essential first version and plan how it will actually operate before investing heavily in a build.
Earlier website projects included Royal Lake Club and Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan. During COVID, Brian worked with Cleanstant, Desyham World and Sree Sonic on e-commerce, centralised multi-channel orders, product management, content and digital marketing.
Initially skeptical about e-commerce, with weak online sales.
After committing to product, order, customer and online operations, the business became profitable through e-commerce.
The goal was not only to create an online store, but to make online selling easier to manage across multiple channels.
A website alone does not create results. The business also has to commit to operating it properly.
Brian also helped businesses facing weak online sales: connecting website development with social media, content planning, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok advertising, campaign strategy, customer acquisition and practical store operations support.
E-commerce website development, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok advertising, social media marketing, content planning and campaign strategy.
Alongside IT and digital services, Brian’s experience includes computer repair, F&B and nasi kandar, The White House Sports Bar, and Airbnb and short-term rental operations. Each brought him closer to the everyday decisions business owners face.
Customers, suppliers, staffing, marketing, cash flow and operations are connected. Running businesses taught him to adapt when something did not work, control unnecessary spending and choose solutions that fit the people using them.
Why BP Trade Solutions exists today
BP Trade Solutions was established in 2021.
After working across different industries, Brian returned to what had consistently been his strongest foundation: technology, websites, digital systems and problem solving. BP Trade Solutions is where those experiences come together, combining technical understanding with the perspective of someone who has run businesses himself.
Client websites, e-commerce, paid advertising, Big Red Food Delivery and business ownership shape how Brian advises clients today. BP Trade Solutions brings that experience together across Website Development, E-Commerce, Multi-Channel Online Sales Workflows, SEO / AEO / GEO, Social Media Marketing, Paid Advertising, Digital Product Blueprint, AI-assisted solutions and business digitalisation.
IT + Digital Technology + Business Operations + Entrepreneurship + Customer Experience + AI-assisted development
The founder’s philosophy
“I learned many lessons the expensive way. My job now is to help others avoid having to do the same.”
Brian Pereira
Identify the problem. Find the solution. Implement it. Move forward.
Build only what is needed first.
Reduce unnecessary cost and avoid preventable mistakes.
Technology should solve a real business problem.
Use technology to store information and automate work. Use the human mind to think, decide and solve problems.
Experience translated into practical services
Websites that serve the business
Website Development combines clear information, customer experience and easy enquiry paths. Business digitalisation starts by understanding where a better system can save time or simplify everyday work.
SEO, AEO and GEO help structure the website and its content so search engines and AI tools can better understand the business. The goal is to make useful, accurate information easier to find—without promising rankings or AI recommendations.
Big Red’s lessons now help shape app, marketplace and digital product plans. Idea → Blueprint → MVP → Build keeps the first version focused on what is needed, how people will use it and how the business will operate.
AI makes building faster and more accessible, but human judgment is still needed to understand the business, decide what should be built, structure it properly and fine-tune the result. Brian uses AI-assisted development as part of that process, alongside practical IT and business experience.
